WATCH THIS VIDEO

Who will win Scotland vs Netherlands, 5th T20?

Scotland and the Netherlands meet at Malahide for the second time in this Ireland Tri-Nation Series, with the match taking place on September 18. The live action starts at 13:30 local time.
Their previous meeting saw Scotland’s openers amass a 200-run partnership on their way to 252/3 in total. George Munsey scored an unbeaten century as Scotland went on to claim a 58-run win. They come into this game on the back of defeat to Ireland, however.
The Dutch, on the other hand, bounced back from that defeat by beating the hosts last time out. Ben Cooper (91*) and Max O’Dowd (69) hit a national-record 144-run partnership for the second wicket as the Netherlands chased 183 to win by six wickets.

SCO vs NED Toss Prediction

The Netherlands won the toss when these teams last met and regretted their decision to field first. Both Scotland and Ireland have batted first in games since, so the Dutch may elect to bat first this time out.

SCO vs NED Weather Report

After a cool start to the day, conditions are set fair for the rest of the afternoon with sun and virtually no chance of rain on the forecast.

SCO vs NED Pitch Condition

Malahide has been an excellent pitch for batting so far in this series, with some big scored and big run rates.

Scotland Team News & Playing 11

SCO Team News

Matthew Cross lasted just one ball after being recalled in place of Craig Wallace last time out. He could be pushed up the order this time, however, to a more familiar position. Adrian Neill was replaced by Hamza Tahir last time out, but the latter was expensive. Safyaan Sharif has been expensive in both games too and his place may be in danger as Scotland rotate their options ahead of the T20 World Cup qualifier.

SCO Key Players

George Munsey: Followed up his unbeaten 127 from 56 balls when these teams last met by hitting 34 at the top of the order last time out. He is a man in form.
Calum MacLeod: Issued a timely reminder of his own ability with the bat, hammering 72 from 42 balls to lead the Scottish innings last time out.
Alasdair Evans: Took 2-19 last time out, when these teams last met, and then took 1-37 when Scotland faced Ireland last time out.

SCO Team Form

There has been no issue with Scotland’s batting so far, after they hammered 252/3 on their way to a 58-run win against the Dutch (led by George Munsey (127*) and Kyle Coetzer (89)). Scotland then hammered 193/7 last time out, with Calum MacLeod hitting 72 of them, but they suffered a four-wicket defeat to Ireland in just 17.4 overs.

Scotland Predicted Playing 11

  • George Munsey, Kyle Coetzer (c), Matthew Cross (wk), Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, Ollie Hairs, Tom Sole, Adrian Neill, Mark Watt, Alasdair Evans, Hamza Tahir

Netherlands Team News & Playing 11

NED Team News

Philippe Boissevain came into the team last time out, while teenager Vikram Singh will hope to be handed his opportunity in the Netherlands’ final game of this Tri-Nation Series.

NED Key Players

Pieter Seelaar: Scored 96 from 49 balls against the Scots when they last met and his bowling is a key part of his armoury too – he claimed 1-27 against the Irish last time out, taking the key wicket of Andy Balbirnie.
Ben Cooper: Difficult to ignore after his unbeaten 91 from 56 balls last time out, in a national-record partnership with O’Dowd. It was his fifth T20i half-century in his 37th innings.
Max O’Dowd: Got back to his best form last time out, scoring 69 from 45 balls – including five sixes – to get back to the form he was showing against Zimbabwe and the UAE previously.

NED Team Form

The Netherlands’ win against Ireland last time out ended their long T20i losing streak, which included all four matches against the UAE and their opening game of this series against Scotland.
After conceding 252/3 against the Scots, the bowling was much tighter against the hosts last time out. Brandon Glover led the way with 2-19 to restrict them to 181/7 before Ben Cooper (91*) and Max O’Dowd (69) helped the Dutch to a six-wicket win.

Netherlands Predicted Playing 11

  • Tobias Visee, Max O’Dowd, Ben Cooper, Vikramjit Singh, Tonny Staal, Scott Edwards (wk), Pieter Seelaar (c), Shane Snater, Brandon Glover, Fred Klaassen, Philippe Boissevain

Scotland vs Netherlands Betting Odds

  • SCO Top Batsman: George Munsey is 3.75 favourites to be Scotland’s top batsman after his incredible form against the Dutch last time they met. Kyle Coetzer is 4.00 after his 89 against the Dutch, while Calum MacLeod is 4.50 after top-scoring in the defeat to Ireland. Richie Berrington is 6.50.
  • SCO Top Bowler: Alasdair Evans is 4.00 to be Scotland’s top bowler after a strong start to this tournament. Mark Watt is 4.33, while Hamza Tahir and Adrian Neill are both 4.50.

NED Bet365 Odds

  • NED to Win the Match: The Netherlands are 2.75 outsiders with Bet365 to beat Scotland.
  • NED Top Batsman: Max O’Dowd and Ben Cooper were the stand-out Dutch players last time out, as they beat the Irish. They are both 4.33 with Bet365. Tobias Visee is 5.00, having fallen short on both occasions – his poor form does not reflect his usual quality at the top of the order
  • NED Top Bowler: Shane Snater is 4.00 favourite to be the Netherlands’ top bowler with Bet365, after he took three wickets last time these teams met. Pieter Seelaar is 4.50, as is Fred Klaassen, while Paul van Meekeren can be backed at the same price too. Brandon Glover is 5.00, while Phillipe Boissevain is 5.50.

Scotland vs Netherlands Prediction

Scotland were in blistering batting form when these teams last met. Their batting has been excellent and, if their bowling can match, they can get back to winning ways.

SCO vs NED Dream11 Prediction

Wicket-keeper
Both Tobias Visee and Matthew Cross got first-ball ducks in their respective previous innings. Both, if given the chance, are capable of much more. Visee has scored two ducks now, and so he does represent a gamble, but he is at the top of the order and so most likely to score big runs if he does return to form.
Batsmen
The top batsmen cost a lot but the star names on both sides have showed their best form already. Max O’Dowd and Ben Cooper were the Netherlands’ stars against Ireland, while Calum MacLeod, Kyle Coetzer and George Munsey have been at their big-hitting best for the Scots.
All-rounders

Bowlers
Alasdair Evans was key for the Scots with the ball last time against the Dutch and he took a wicket against the Irish too. Mark Watt is another key element of the Scottish bowling attack. Brandon Glover made a big difference for the Netherlands last time out, meanwhile
Captain/Vice-captain
The batsmen have been in top form for both teams already, especially George Munsey for Scotland. Munsey smashed an unbeaten century when these teams last met and was in good touch against the Irish too. He would be a good pick as captain. Max O’Dowd was back to his best form last time out, meanwhile, and has generally been consistent for the Dutch. O’Dowd would definitely be a good vice-captain.
